If you’re a dog person you probably know a Pekingese named “Malachy” won Best in Show at this year’s Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. I write this as Riley, my Chocolate Lab, stares at me in disbelief. You see, both of us were in the car recently when the radio mentioned that the Labrador Retriever as a breed has never won the coveted Best in Show award. Then the reporter went on to explain it was the fourth win for the Pekingese. Ouch! Riley’s been in a funk ever since. I think Lab owners around the globe are starting to adopt the loyal Chicago Cubs fans’ mantra: “Maybe next year.”
Regardless, our congratulations go out to all the Pekingese breeders and owners out there. To mark the occasion of the win, National Etching is now releasing a Pekingese design in our line of Etched Dog Treat Jars and Pint Glasses. They make great gifts for anyone who takes pride in their prized Pekingese.
If you’re part of a canine club, take a look at all the breeds we offer in etched designs. If you don’t see the particular breed you’re interested in, shoot us an email or give us a call and we’ll work on creating a new design. We recently added all six of the new breeds recognized by the Westminster Kennel Club and allowed to compete in this year’s dog show (American English Coonhound, Cesky Terrier, Entlebucher Mountain Dog, Finnish Lapphund, Norwegian Lundehund and Xoloitzcuintli).
Our Etched Dog Treat Jars and Pint Glasses are our most requested dog related items, but we can also etch a canine design in any glassware National Etching offers. If your canine club doubles as a wine club, why not have Etched Riedel Wine Glasses? Or add a favorite breed design to a decanter for the canine club president who’s retiring. Look throughout our catalog for all sorts of great gift ideas and find what you need. We’ll be happy to etch a canine design, or whatever design you want on the gift or piece that suits your needs. All you need to do is give us a call or drop us an email. It’s that easy . . . and that Etched Dog Treat Jar may be just the thing to ease your pet’s mind if they’re feeling snubbed like Riley.
